Today I am here to finally announce my brand new blog! After months of learning the ropes and figuring out how to troubleshoot everything surrounding website creation, I have created my very own brand new website!
Becoming Jordan is a lifestyle blog that aims its focus around work, college, food, beauty, books, and other lifestyle topics. There will be a new post every Monday, so be sure to check it out!
There are so many more new things going on, this new blog is just the beginning. Soon, there will be a new YouTube Channel from me that will be posting videos every Thursday. Also, I plan on becoming EXPONENTIALLY more active on social media, so be sure to follow me on all of my accounts. I have a Twitter, two instagrams (one) (two), and a Pinterest so far.
And to put the cherry on top of this beautiful content sundae, I am going to become far more active on this blog as well. From here on out, I will be posting my fictional works on this website, as well as any other content that I feel is not quite the quality that belongs on my new website.
All in all, I am so excited to be taking on all of these projects! It’s going to be a slow and steady uphill climb to get all of them the way I want them to look, but I am more than ready for the challenge. You ready? Let’s go!
Here’s my current predicament: I want to start a YouTube Channel. Sounds easy enough, right? NOPE.
I don’t want to just put some lackluster stuff up on the internet. I want to make an actual channel out of my YouTube account. I want to have series running, guest speakers, fun animations, and stunning visuals. The only problem with that is that I have no equipment. Or experience. Or help.
It is definitely an uphill battle, especially while continuing to work on creating a new blog. The thing is that I love writing AND editing videos. But the experience in both fields just aren’t there yet.
So here’s what I’m going to do about it: I am going to slow my roll a little bit. My blog launch date is going to be moved back to the first of September and my YouTube Content launch date is going to be on August 1st. This will give me some time to focus more on creating better content on both platforms, instead of rushing around trying to do everything at once.
Speaking of content, I’m getting pretty excited about the ideas I do have in store for both my blog and my YouTube channel. All of it really packs a punch while staying true to my core values. It’s going to be fantastic!
I am using this blog to test out basic WordPress features so that when my new website goes live on July 30th, I’ll have seen some of the basic things that I can do and know simple formatting.
The text editing feature seems simple enough. Adding media is the part where everything goes fuzzy to me. Man, what am I even going to blog about on my new blog? I don’t even know. I’m going to have to go on a lot more adventures, that’s for sure.
I’m also going to have to learn some good video editing moves as well, because I’m definitely going to be using that YouTube channel that I just created!! It will probably just end up being another silly vlogging channel with challenges and crap on it, but I really want to find a way to make it something special. I need to find a way to add my own spin on everything.
I’m so excited to be taking these steps towards doing something that I love, but I really want to have a solid plan before I jump into everything. In the past few weeks, this plan has become far more solid, which is very surprising to me because I thought for sure that this would just be another thing that I would attach to for a few days and then totally forget about. But in reality, I’ve learned that I love writing, that video editing is really fun to me, that everything I need to pay for is decently prices, and most importantly, that I have loved sharing ideas with people from the get-go, and that even after all of these years of being silenced by my shyness, that desire is still within me. And THAT is why I’m going to figure all of this out, and pursue this crazy idea.
